BYU
I had to go to BYU yesterday to pick up the food for our Blue & Gold banquet last night. As I was driving around campus, I saw a lot of twiggy girls out running. You know the type. The ones that eat a half of a piece of celery then have to go run it off. And then there was me. Driving while enjoying a delicious Twix. Licking the chocolate off of my fingers. Mmmm.

Hot Lips
Today, Carson and I played baseball on the Wii. A girl with huge, red lips came up to bat.
Carson: Wow! Those are some hot lips!
Me: Ya! (Laughing)
Carson: I like hot lips.
Me: Why?
Carson: Cause they make me happy.
Me: (???)
Carson: Mom, you should get some hot lips.
I better save my $$ for some collagen. Just imagine what I could look like!!!http://www.pbase.com/zippo/image/20709032

One-on-one time
Ryan and I decided to split up today and each of us take a boy. Ryan is out having a day of fun eating ice cream and going to museums and movies with Carson. I am at home trying to potty train Wyatt. Yes, I got the "crappy" end of the deal.
Wyatt is doing pretty good. He is very interested in the potty right now and just gets on it and goes whenever he feels like it. He has only had one accident so far today and now he is taking a nap.
Carson was pretty easy to train. He followed instructions well and wanted to please us. I could pretty much go by the book with him. Wyatt is independent and wants to do things on his own time. He is distracted easily and is having those fun two year old tantrums. OH how I hope he continues to do well and gets it rather quickly!

Bribes
Today I received a phone call from day care. This is how it went.
I was just calling about Carson. Most days I have had to get after him a little for beating on his friends. (Just what every mother wants to hear.) But today he was being such a good boy and I told him how good he was being. Carson told me it was because there are cookies in his car and he can have one if he was good today.
I guess bribes do work.

Catching up
Here is the latest of what we have been up to:
Wednesday: My mom came down and we went shopping! This is one of my favorite traditions. I love it! Although, the boys are not invited to come along next year. I don't think they enjoyed it too much either. They were so tired and fighting and throwing clothes on the floor and driving their mother crazy. I think now my mom understands why I don't shop and if I go out, the max amount of stops I can make is two.
Thursday: I got to work and my cute coworkers put a huge birthday banner up in my "office". A few patients didn't say a thing. A few asked if it was my birthday. I told them yes and that I put up the sign because I wanted everyone to know it is my birthday and sing to me. I got a few weird stares. :) One lady gave me a hug. That was special. Crystal took pity on me since that night I would just be going home, making dinner, and putting kids to bed and invited me to dinner. We met up with the Black's and my parents. It was so fun! I got home and Ryan had set up a treasure hunt in the house with cute love notes all over, flowers, and a birthday cake. He is so sweet!
Friday: Worked and then went on a hot date. We drove separate cars, met up at a movie, got dinner 'to go' because I felt bad the neighbor's had already had the kids for three hours, then went home. I think Ryan liked being in separate cars because I couldn't tell him how scary of a driver he is.
Saturday: Woke up sick from the Devil himself. I think he knew I had to go to the temple that day. It wasn't easy sitting through a session. I overdosed on Pepto and made it through. We celebrated my grandma and grandpa's 60th wedding anniversary. It was so awesome to be in the temple with most of our family on my mom's side. We then had a dinner, and of course, a program (don't get me started on that). My mom asked me to sing, and I was a little nervous. Lately, I have just been the Henefer funeral singer. There's no pressure there. If the person didn't like it, they couldn't tell me so. I also wasn't too excited because my cousin---who is profesh---he even had his karaoke machine---sang too. I can't hold a note compared to him. I am sure I would have sounded better if I had been in the shower. And the best part is....when I sat down, my dad put his arm around me. Didn't say anything though. Then while my cousin was singing Dad asked me why he wasn't on American Idol. I asked Ry then and pretty much the entire ride home if I did okay. He did his best to convince me that I did good. It was definitely a Valentine's day to remember.
Sunday: Church. Oh, this is a pretty good story. The Sunday before I was talking to the counselor in the bishopric that is over Primary. He didn't look well at all. I have really been trying not to put my foot in my mouth, but decided to ask him if he was okay anyway. He just said he felt a little dingy. Then this Sunday, he came up and asked to speak to me. He told me that after I asked him if he was okay that he wondered why I thought that and decided he should check his blood sugar (he is diabetic). He said even after he had a piece of candy his blood sugar was super low. He thanked me for "saving his life" that day. I know I didn't do that, but I am thankful that I (for once) listened to the Spirit and was able to help another person. We then went to Henefer. Because everyone freaked me out about black ice, I stayed over.
Monday: Had a fun day with Mom! We went to O town and did some shopping. She cut my hair and weaved it a bit. We also broke into the wax and decided to wax our nose hairs. I think she loves to rip those sticks out. It makes you feel like your brain is being ripped out too. On the bright side, I shouldn't get any cliffers. :) We came home last night. I was talking on the phone to Ry telling him I was on my way and then started saying SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT. He said he was waiting for the crash. I almost hit a deer. Mom was sending me home with a Jello salad for Teresa and I heard it spill open. I pulled over and it was tipped on its side. Thank goodness I avoided that mess.
I can't wait to see what this week brings!

Happy Birthday Britney!!!
I just wanted everyone to know how much I love Britney. She is the most wonderful and beautiful person I know. We have been through a lot together and I really believe that she was made just for me. She enjoys trying to get me to try new things. Last month she decided that we were going to go skiing. I haven't been since I was little, but she was very persistent.

You can see that she wants to be with her family forever and she loves to take pictures of our children no matter what they are doing. She has a very tender loving heart just as any mom should. She also talks with her sisters and mom weekly, if not sometimes daily, but that's okay because that just shows how much she really cares for them.

I would also like to say that Britney is an excellent mother, wife, and best friend. For those of you who follow her blog, can see just how amazing she is.

Sheets
Growing up, whenever we would even mention to Mom that we had a stomach ache, wasn't feeling well, sat by some kid that got sick at school, or had "the look", the sheets went down. She would lay the sheets out over the carpet down the hall from our rooms to the bathroom. I don't ever remember losing it in the hallway, but now I totally understand.
I am slowly realizing that if someone gets sick, the sheets must come down. Obviously, it wasn't food poisoning, but a virus going around our house. Carson came down with it last night. I will spare the details, but it was nasty. We are running on about 2 hours of sleep today. Sorry to everyone we exposed at church yesterday...
Next time, I hope to be better prepared with the sheets.
Thanks, Mom for taking care of us when we were sick. Sometimes it is so hard being a mom, and I hope that you know how much I appreciate you.
And as you may have guessed, Ryan thinks it is all from daycare and I need to quit my job. :)

Yum
Ryan had the boys on Friday while I was at work. They did some male bonding at Cabela's and went to McDonald's for lunch. I think Wyatt may have gotten food poisoning. He threw up in his bed and slept in it all night Friday night. I felt so bad he didn't cry out or anything. Then while I was at lunch on Saturday, Ryan called and said he was throwing up again. Poor little boy. He hasn't felt very well.

His appetite did come back a little last night. I found him in the playroom. He had found Carson's preschool paper on the letter "O"and they had glued Cheerios to the paper. Wyatt was ripping the Cheerios off, glue and paper included, and chowing. Yum yum!
I had to throw the paper away to avoid Carson's meltdown if/when he discovered the Cheerios went missing.

I had such a great day yesterday. We went to lunch at Olive Garden for our traditional birthday lunch. I love you girls so much!
Bailey, Michelle, and Mom
Preston, Crystal, Me, and TeresaWe all ordered the same thing. Can't tell we're related at all. You can't forget the few sly comments to the waitress that we were there celebrating my birthday. I am totally willing to go through any kind of embarrassment for free dessert. Except at Olive Garden. They'll sing some song to you, but no free dessert. Still, the food was delish and we had a great time together.
I just had to include the picture of these hotties.Thank you so much for going to lunch with me! You made my day!!! I love you all so much!!!

Hey Wyatt...
What are you looking at?
Oh, a cat sunbathing on our deck. No, not just one. Three.
I am not a big animal lover. Most of my memories of cats aren't the best. When I was little, I would dress up Grandma's cats in doll clothes. They would get away and then claw the crap out of my arms. The cats didn't like me too much. Then, whenever Grandma and Grandpa were doing something with sheep, I had to go feed the cats. I hated it. They would hiss at me every time I went in the house. It was like they were possessed.
A few months after we moved into our new house I heard what sounded like a cat fight going on outside my bedroom window in the middle of the night. It scared the beejeevies out of me. Come to find out, a cat had fallen into the window well and got stuck. It clawed its way out by tearing up the screen.
To make this long story even longer...behind our house is fields. Last summer, there were trails in the lawn from the mice coming under the fence and across the grass that we had just put in. I started freaking out. We spread out De con along the fence line and in their holes. I even almost got a cat, which would be a huge step for me. Fall and winter came and as far as I know, no mice have made their way in. So, if the "three amigos" catch the mice, they are welcome to sunbathe on my deck. But if I find any cat poop on my deck...
the deal is off!Disclaimer: I will not let Ryan shoot any cats.

February!
I love this month! It is the month of the biggest holiday of the year. Nope, not President's day or Valentine's day, but my birthday! There are only 11 more shopping days--Ryan!
I was thinking about what to give Ryan for Valentine's day. It brought back memories of my middle school crush. My parents loved him more than I did. He gave me some kind of trinket for Valentine's day, so of course, my parents thought I should give him something too. Since I refused to go shopping with them, my parents decided to go somewhere NICE to pick something up for me to give him. Walmart. It all went down hill from there. My dad must have picked it out. He loves cologne! He brought home a bottle of Brut. I took a whiff of that stuff and WOW! Might as well put gasoline on. It smells the same. I was absolutely mortified to give my 6th grader friend a bottle of Brut. That is what old men wear for heaven's sake! They drove me up to his house, made me knock on the door, and give it to him. I remember wanting to die rather than give him this bottle of skunk stench. Poor kid probably became one of the "stinky kids" at school.
Awe! Memories! What's the best or worst Valentine's gift you have received or given?

Swimming
Yesterday, Carson wouldn't nap and was being so loud that he woke up Wy. I decided that we needed to do something fun together and hopefully wear them out so they would go to bed early. We came up with sledding or swimming. As we were discussing, the boys heard us and had their suits on and were ready to go.
We went to the Lehi pool and there were a million people there. The last time we went, someone pooped in the pool and it got closed early. So, now I have this phobia of getting crypto and get quite disgusted just thinking about the pool. I thought if we went some where less busy that our chances of someone pooping in the pool would be slim. We decided to go to A.F. It was less busy and the kids were having fun.
We swam for an hour or so and Wy wanted to go down the slide with Carson again. I put him on the slide and noticed yellow turds coming up his back. YUCK! My kid was the one that pooped in the pool that time. I came home and washed everything and had the hottest shower I could stand without having to be sent to the ER for burns to try to disinfect myself. I'm afraid it will be a long time before I will get myself back in the pool.
