The Boys Talk about LoVe!

Carson: "Wyatt, are you in love?"

Wyatt: Thinking then smiling. "Yes. I yuv my tusin Sammy."

Carson: "Well, I'm in love with Briley."

And so it begins!

For me

I wanted to write down what has been going on and how I have been feeling so I can remember my worries that one day won't seem so big.

Carson is registered for kindergarten. Am I ready for this? Not really. I actually have him on the list for the raffle to get into the charter school that is within walking distance and I can even see him playing on the playground. The charter school is my first choice because of the closeness and small class size, but I figured if I didn't register him at the other elementary that he for sure wouldn't get in. The other elementary is expecting 180 kindergartners to register for fall. I'm new to this, but that seems huge. Carson is so excited to go to school, so that will probably make it a little easier to send him.

Wyatt is such a small little thing and it blows me away that he will be three in 9 days. I can't believe we've been through seizures, multiple ear infections, and tubes with this boy. I am grateful he is healthy and developing as he should. I am actually excited to take him for his check up to see if he has physically grown because he hadn't grown since his 18 month appointment. He has been potty trained for a year now, but he still can't make it through the night without having to wear diapers. Is this normal? Anyone have any pointers? Sunday he wouldn't leave my side and was sucking his thumb, which he has never done. I hope having a new baby in the house won't make it hard on him.

I am very lucky to have the job that I do, but I think it also makes me worry a ton because I am aware of things that can go wrong. Our baby has hydronephrosis on his left kidney that is increasingly getting worse. We probably won't know until after he is born if it will resolve on its own or if it will need to be fixed. I occasionally can see his stomach, but it isn't ever very distended and my amniotic fluid is verging on high. It could be normal or a possible digestion problem; we'll have to wait and see. As a family, we pray daily for our little baby that he will be healthy and strong. I am afraid the next 12 1/2 weeks are going to go by very slow for me. I really hope to bring a healthy little boy home from the hospital.

I trained another sonographer yesterday, which makes three in the past two months. I guess it may take three people to take my place while I am on maternity leave. ;) I hope they will be able to help, and I'm not training people that may never work there.

I really appreciate Ryan putting up with me and my emotions lately. And the nightly back rubs. He is so good to me and I know he loves us. I know that Heavenly Father will bless us for our righteous desires. I want to be a better mom and have happy kids that try hard to make good choices. I want this baby to be healthy and for Carson and Wyatt to feel they each have an important role in our family. Some day I'll probably wish I could go back to this simpler time, but I think what we are experiencing now will make us stronger for what is to come. Oh, I hope I can do this!

Let the War Begin

When the snow began to melt... We started seeing a few trails from the voles. Oh how I hate those nasty critters. So we put out some yummy poison for them to eat and share with their family, friends, and lovers. I love this picture of Ry in his G's and snow boots! He is my hero! I think it has helped a bit because our yard definitely looks better than it did last year. However, if those suckers are in my window wells, and chewing up my screens, they will be killed.
Ryan took my window washing pole (ya, I won't be using that anytime soon now), attached a nail with tape, and stabbed a live one and removed a few dead ones from the window wells yesterday. He tells me there is no blood on the pole. Still, YUCK, but I am so grateful he will take care of them for me so I don't go in the basement and hear them scratching at the window or see them eating their loved ones to try to stay alive.
So, the war is on. So long suckers!

Birthday Celebrating!

I had a wonderful birthday thanks to such great family and friends. Thursday night, Ryan and the boys made me a steak dinner, cake, and bought me roses. Ryan gave me a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure, which I can't wait to use! Friday, I went to work and my awesome friends at work gave me balloons and a cake. That night I went to dinner with my parents and Michelle and Brett and their family then we went to a wedding reception for our cousin. Yesterday, my mom dyed and cut my hair. It's amazing how good it feels to get your hair done. I received many calls, emails, messages, and texts, and my favorite--those who sang to me--you know who you are! Thank you for making my first 29th (yes, I'm not joking) birthday really special.

Happy Valentine's Day!

To the loves of my life...
Carson-I love your smile and how helpful you are to me. You never forget to give me a hug and kiss before going to bed or going somewhere. You try so hard to make good choices. You are such a fast learner that you totally amaze me. I love playing games and spending time with you. You are so forgiving when I make mistakes. You really make me want to be a better mom. I love you Buddy! Wyatt- I love your little voice and hearing your little feet run down the hall each morning to tell me, "Dood Moaning, Mommy!" I love that you get so excited about things and that you make us laugh all the time. I love your little compliments when you tell me I'm pretty or that you like my hair. I love your big eyes and your sweet innocence. You are a light in my life and I love you so much!
Ry- I love you so much for being a wonderful partner for me. Thank you for giving me the cutest little boys ever. Thank you for all of your help around the house and with the kids and working so hard to provide for our family. Thank you for your kindness and patience with me. Thank you for being there for me when I need to cry or vent or laugh. I love you so much and hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

I love you!!!
Love,
Mom

Weekend Fun

We had a really great weekend. I had a hot date with this guy. He took me out to celebrate my birthday and Valentine's since he will be working this coming weekend. We went to the movie When In Rome and went to dinner at PF Changs. The movie was hilarious and romantical (my favorite combination) and the dinner was delish. Oh, and thanks for keeping me from trying to eat the plastic dessert. That was really embarrassing. Sunday, we went to my mom and dad's for dinner, the Superbowl, and to celebrate Brett, my brother-in-law, and my birthday that we share on Friday the 12th. The kids played so well together and were busy having fun with all of the activities Grandma had for them. My mom always makes me a pink heart cake. Why doesn't my frosting ever taste as good as hers? Actually anything for that matter. She is a Betty if you know what I mean. I had fun celebrating with my family! Thanks for a great time!Other than Wyatt getting car sick on the way home-probably from eating too much frosting, it was a wonderful weekend! Love you all!

Random Red Tag

I got tagged to show seven pictures of red things in my house. I swear I did not stage any of the following pictures. ;)
1. Carson writing the word red with a red marker. 2. Wyatt wearing red underwear on his head. So stylish!
3. The boys sword fighting with red cups.
4. Wyatt wearing his red jammies playing with blocks.
5. Me wearing this hot red leather jacket. Carson wanted me to pose like this for the picture. BTW, if anyone wants to be Michael Jackson for Halloween or to just get lucky, your welcome to borrow this sweet jacket anytime!
6. Wyatt coloring in yet another pair of red jammies.7. The boys enjoying Ryan's refreshing Wild Cherry Pepsi. While the warden is away--the boys play! I do my best to keep them happy. :)
I now tag Teresa, Michelle, Crystal, Keri, Neisha, Jean Marie, and Sara to join in the fun then tag seven more people. Have a Happy Red Day!

The Month of Love

Yeah it is February! Our January was kind of blah, so I am more than ready to move on. To kick off the month of love, we made sugar cookies. Ya, the green sprinkles don't really go with the theme, but we just used what we had and Carson loves green.

We are excited for what this month is going to bring: Superbowl parties, the Olympics, the Valentine festivities, and of course, birthday celebrating!
