Saint George

We got away for a long weekend and went to Saint George with my mom & dad, Crystal's family, and Teresa's family.  It was so fun and went by too fast.  We went hiking, shopping, lots and lots of swimming, and saw Aladdin at Tuacahn.  Carson's favorite was swimming and being with his cousins.  Wyatt loved eating out and the guys with the swords in Aladdin.  Easton loved anytime he wasn't in his car seat.  I loved getting away and I think Ryan loved that as well.

I thought I had taken a lot of pictures, but apparently I did not.  And I didn't even get pictures of us all together.  Thank you for the wonderful time!  I have a really great family!

Carson's Marathon

As part of field day, Carson's school had a mini marathon and ran one mile that went right in front of our house.  It was so funny watching the kids.  Carson ran REALLY fast once he saw us, but I think may have burned himself out a little!

A couple of weeks ago, I was out running around to doctor appointments and received a call from Carson's teacher.  I always get a little worried, but it was great news.  Carson had made it to finals from his class and was competing with 11 other first graders in the first grade spelling bee.  The teacher was inviting me over to watch him and was apologizing that she hadn't informed me about it.  She told me she would have Carson call me after.  Twenty minutes later, he called to tell me he won!  They were testing the kids off of a fourth grade spelling list.  Way to go, Carson!  I am so proud of you and how much you have accomplished and how well you have done in first grade.  We took him out for a slushy and new shoes since he wore holes through the soles.  How is that even possible?!?  Boys sure wear out their clothes!  Now for a fun filled summer!

I REALLY hope she will do her job--what nature intended.  She was a stray kitten that someone took in and they couldn't keep her, so Tiger is going to live at our house.  She is a frisky little kitten and Ryan caught two voles her first day (but kind of knocked them out a little) and then let her finish them off.  She batted them around and was quite entertaining.  Yesterday was the first day in I can't remember that we haven't had voles in our window wells.  I am definitely not a huge animal person and Ryan is pretty allergic to cats, but I hope this is a good thing.  Oh and the boys love her so much she runs away from them.  :)

(Some faithful readers may remember we got a cat a few years ago to try to help out the vole problem, but he was an indoor cat and was scared of outside.  After he made a big poopy mess in the garage, Ryan had to find him a new home.  He only lasted a few days.  Let's hope Tiger isn't such a scaredy cat.)
