Merry Christmas 2010!!!

We had a great Christmas! Finally, in 9 years of being married, Ryan and I were able to spend Christmas together! We went to my parent's house on Christmas Eve. Here are the boys modeling their new pj's from Grandma & Grandpa. Carson REALLY wanted a robe. He loves it!
Christmas morning started about 7:30 at our house. Carson was the first one up and the others followed.

Carson's favorite gifts: a DS & a new bike
Grandma and Grandpa also gave Wyatt a new coat! Now I hope he will just wear it!
Wyatt's favorite gifts: his bike and his cowboy hat, cowboy boots, cowboy pants and his horse. He has been trotting around the house since he opened them.

He was super excited when a guy at Home Depot called him "Tex" the other day.
Easton loved the wrapping paper and watching his brothers.
He loves this dog that sings to him and says his name.
And I think he will grow to love his dump truck.

I just love these boys and hope they had the best Christmas so far!

PS...Whoever gave me the flu for Christmas, I would much rather have coal next year. Thanks!

Blind as a Bat

For the past week my vision has been increasingly worse in my right eye. I went to the doc today and found out I have iritis. He wondered why I waited so long to be seen. He "thinks" we can turn it around. And that my vision "should" return. Although, he "can't guarantee" I won't need glasses.

My sister Teresa is always looking at the silver lining. So, I'll try to do the same.

• I can get places faster because I can't see the spedometer.
• I don't need to donate to the bell ringer because I can't seem to find the bucket.
• My kids don't seem to be giving me the stink face lately when they are told NO.
• I can't tell how dirty my house is.
• I'm saving money on my utility bills. I just pay them what I think is fair.
• I'm positive my makeup looks pretty hot from how I imagine I've done it.
• And I'm pretty sure I've lost weight since the numbers on the scale seem to show about 80.

The craftiest thing I've ever done...

I made invitations for Priesthood Preview. I thought it was blog-worthy! I told someone at church it was the craftiest thing I had ever done and she misunderstood and thought I said "crappiest". Good times!

Carson & Wyatt Funnies

I told Carson today how much I liked his hair. He replied, smiling I must add, "It's awesome! Maybe I'll get another girlfriend! Then I won't know which one to date first!"
I heard Wyatt and Carson having a discussion about the snow melting. Wyatt said, "I hate da wain! I wuv da snow!" They decided to say a prayer for more snow. I'm sure they'll get what they ask for!

Wyatt came home from school and recited the Pledge of Allegiance for me:

We were putting out our Christmas decorations and Carson asked, "Why do we have all this Jesus stuff?" I told my mom this and she bought us a nativity so I could teach my kids right for FHE. Ever since, they keep playing with it. I guess this time the animals were hiding baby Jesus from the wise men while Mary was out on a date with Joseph and a Shepard.

Carson came home from school and told me he is a Level P in reading! Way to go buddy!

6 Months!

This little guy has been through so much that 6 months has flown by! It seems like I was in the hospital having him yesterday! In fact, it snowed on his birthday and snowed on his 6 month birthday. I hope his storm has passed and he will continue to grow and develop into a healthy little boy. Easton is sitting! Although, he will still not roll from his back to front. He LOVES his brothers and is constantly watching them and laughing at them. I have to shoo them outside so Easton will relax and take a nap. He isn't too fond of baby cereal and I haven't really tried anything else other than a few small tastes of table food that he loves. He is a really good baby and pretty easy to calm as long as I am around. When he lays down, he always has his legs up. I find it adorable!

He has an ultrasound to check his kidney next week. Hopefully he has healed as well inside as the outside. His skin is the same maybe a little worse. I took him to grand rounds at the U which, unfortunately wasn't very helpful. He will have to have epinephrine with him at all times because if he happens to have a histamine release (caused by his skin getting rubbed, medications, heat, etc...) it will cause him to faint and stop breathing. I am still praying for a miracle to heal him.

He loves being outside as long as he isn't cold and it's not windy. He loves putting everything in his mouth and drools like a water fountain. He loves toys and things that make sound. Here are his stats:

Wyatt wrote it correctly first on the left, then wrote it so it looked backwards and upside down on the right. He must have a creative brain to do that. He will write letters without knowing what letters he is writing. So weird! I was meeting new peeps at a church ditty and they said, "Oh, you must be Wyatt's Mom! He is so cute and so good!" This has happened probably at least 5 times before. I am very proud to be known as Wyatt's mom.

Much to be thankful for...

I have seen so many good examples of friends showing gratitude during this month. Since the month is already half over (is that for REAL?!?) I guess I'll just have to start now. Here are my ABC's of Thankfulness!

A: A clean house. It makes me so happy, I can see what I have accomplished, and I feel so much more relaxed when my jobs are done.

B: Bargains. I love getting things on sale.

C: Carson! You challenge me to be a better mom. I am really trying! You are so smart and talented. I just love you!

D: My dad. He would do or give anything for his family. He is smart, handy, and so awesome. He doesn't say a lot, but you better listen when he does.

E: Easton! I am so grateful your surgery went well and that I am your mommy. You are a real blessing in our home. I love you so much!

F: Friends. They are so stinkin great.

G: The gospel and the direction it gives me in my life. I see the importance of it now more than ever.

H: My Home. It's not fancy, but I love knowing where I belong.

I: I am thankful for things that make me laugh or smile. I love feeling happy inside. And it may sound selfish, but I like feeling important.

J: Jobs. So grateful Ryan and I have stable jobs and can be home with the boys as much as possible.

K: Kindness. I really appreciate kind thoughts or words or actions of others. They really help my self worth.

L: Love. The ability to love and be loved. I hate it when Satan makes me feel otherwise.

M: My mom. A wonderful example and friend. I don't know what I would do without her.

N: Nice. It is so freaking awesome when everyone is just being nice and getting along!

O: Oooo! I LOVE a good song! I need to play more music in my house maybe that would help with "N".

P: Prayer. I know we are being watched over and blessed by our Father in Heaven who hears us when we speak to him.

Q: Quiet times to think and reflect on what is really important.

R: Ryan (aka: Ry, Ryno, Babe, QT). My best friend who has stuck by me through good and bad for 9 years! I always look forward to spending time together and love you so much. You are a perfect partner for me.

S: Sisters. My other best friends. If I get a tumor from talking on the phone too much to you girls, it was sure worth it! :)

T: Things to look forward to such as holidays, birthdays, weekends, and spending time with family.

U: Understanding from others that I make mistakes and that they can forgive me.

V: Vacations. I have always loved traveling and now it is fun to do as a family. It is so important to make fun memories together.

W: My little Wy Wy. You bring so much joy into my life. Everyone who meets you loves you. I sure do so very very much!

X: I am eXceptionally thankful for good health. It feels good to feel good!

Y: Yummy food. I especially love it when I don't have to cook it or when I do cook it turns out d-lish.

Z: ZZZ's. It feels so good to get a really good nights sleep, which doesn't seem to happen too frequently lately. Ah I miss it!

A Spooktacular Halloween

Wyatt's Halloween Parade at PreschoolToo busy concentrating on not tripping on that long coat he HAD to wear that he wouldn't wave or smile at his biggest fan (me)!Carson's Halloween ParadeI got a quick wave out of this boy! On Halloween, we went to our ward trunk or treat then did a little trick or treating.We went to some other neighborhoods in SS because a) the boys already got candy from the neighbors at the ward ditty b) I was out of candy and didn't want to go buy more and c) it was fun going to some cool houses where they go all out with projectors and decorations. Way too much candy, but they LOVED trick or treating and had a fun time!

PS...The scooter finally came. Some guy almost put it out to sell at the store even though I had already paid for it!
