Never say Never!

For the past month or so, we have tried different configurations with 3 car seats trying to get them to fit in our SUV. I even bought a new car seat for Wyatt that seemed less wide. After several attempts, we came to the realization that three car seats were not going to fit. And I'm told Carson is supposed to be in a booster until he is 8, so we won't be downsizing car seats any time soon. We have been looking at our options and what would be practical for our family. We have spent a lot of time researching and my least favorite thing in the world--dealing with car salesmen. We would go check on some cars (and deal with the dirt bags out there) then come home and swear we would make it work, haul out the baby car seat and try it again, then we would be back on the hunt for a car. It has been a long vicious cycle and has caused some sleepless nights. (See I really hate shopping for cars!) Anyway, Ryan and I have always said we would NEVER drive a mini van, but since last night, we are eating our words. We bought a Honda Odyssey. The boys love it and I can honestly say that I do too. It is really nice and we are very grateful that we were able to get it. I must be becoming a better Mormon because I now subscribe to the church magazines and drive a van. Hallelujah! :)

One Little Monkey

Wyatt won't let anything keep him down. He will find a way to get what he wants and is quite the climber. I found him in the spare for a few more weeks bedroom where he had put his stool on top of the nightstand and climbed up on top of the chest of drawers to get stuffed animals down. I'm glad I found him when I did!
I guess he got the climbing from me since I was a shorty too. One memory in particular...it was a Sunday morning, the day after my mom had bought a new bottle of Flintstones Vitamins, which was the first and last time my mom ever bought vitamins for us. Michelle and I were probably around Carson and Wyatt's ages now. Michelle may tell this story differently, but I swear she told me to go get the vitamins. I climbed up the kitchen cupboards and brought the bottle back to her room. We divided them into families -the Rubbles and the Flintstones and downed the whole bottle. Too much of a good thing is definitely a bad thing and we ended up at Dr. Allen's drinking huge water bottles full of charcoal and water. It was disgusting, but we lived to tell about it. I don't think either of us will OD ever again.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Earlier this month, my sisters and I went to the temple with my mom because that's how she wanted to celebrate her birthday. We went to lunch and got pedicures. It was a really fun day. Then we were finally able to get together for her birthday dinner a few weeks later. Michelle opened her brand spankin' new home to all of us. Thank you for letting us come down for a delicious "better than Cafe Rio or Bajio style" dinner! Here Wyatt is blowing out Grandma's candles for her.
Most of the grand kids gathered around their most favorite person ever--Grandma! We sure love her and are grateful for her!

The Boogie Man

Flashback to Wednesday night at 9:00.

Ryan and I were watching American Idol. We heard a loud bang from the garage. I sat frozen in my seat while Ryan rushed over, turned the light on and saw the garage door was open a foot. He put the garage door down and ran downstairs to get his gun before going outside to see what was going on. We do have a garage door opener, but the handle on the garage was facing up and down instead across. I should have went to look out the front window, but I really didn't dare move. I called my dad, Mr. Super Electrician, to see if the garage door would open on it's own. He said anything is possible. I told myself that so I could sleep, but the next morning after thinking it through, we know someone was trying to break in. My house is now locked up like Fort Knox, and I leave my porch lights on all night. I am not a fan of the Boogie Man!

All Dressed Up

You would never know what it took by looking at this picture, but with some bribing, begging, wrestling, and crying on my part, I finally got the boys out of their pjs and ready for church. They looked so cute I had to take their picture.
Why do they give me such a hard time on Sundays!?!

We've Got Spring Fever!

Thanks Aunt Crystal and Uncle Ryan for the golf clubs! He LOVES them and hauls them all over the house with him.

Me and My LIttle Sis!

It has been really fun being only two weeks behind Crystal in our pregnancies. I hope these little boys will be best buddies! I am 28 weeks and Crystal is 30 weeks in these pictures.
Crystal also took a picture of our little family. I just love these three boys and the one on the way!

Carson's Turn!

I took Carson in for his Kindergarten check-up today. Here are his stats:

Weight: 41.9 lbs -- 48%
Height: 44'' -- 56%
BMI: 15.2 -- 44%

He looks great and the doctor was super impressed that he knows his phone number even with the area code. The doctor told him he will be the smartest boy in Kindergarten! He was NOT excited about getting four shots, but we made it through. I am so proud of him and glad he is right on track physically and ready to start school this fall! Way to go Carson!

Wyatt Funnies

I had to write a few things down that Wyatt has been saying lately because it is so funny and I didn't want to forget.

When he goes to the bathroom, he tells us, "Det out. I need pivey." (Get out. I need privacy.)

He often is calling Carson, "Yiah pants on fiah." (Liar pants on fire.)

I had to fill out a questionnaire at the doctor's office yesterday to make sure he is developmentally where he should be. One question was "Does he speak in sentences with at least 3-4 words? If yes, write an example". I thought back to that morning when I had to get him up to leave and he told me, "I don't want to doh to duh dumb feekin' dotor. Him div me shots." I left that part blank. I didn't want to be banned from going back to that clinic.

Celebrating Wyatt's Birthday

We had a lot of fun celebrating Wyatt's birthday. He was so excited to come out that morning and see his sand table and presents. He couldn't wait to rip right into them!We woke up Friday morning to quite a bit of snow. Ryan was going to take them swimming, but Wyatt couldn't wait to get his snow clothes on and get outside. I had to work, but Ryan took the boys out to play in the snow and build a snowman. It turned out really cute!
That night, Wyatt wanted his grandma's and grandpa's to come over for a little party. We talked him out of Mac and Cheese and had a BBQ instead. He finally got to open his presents. He was so excited about the new clothes that he had to try them all on right there in front of us all. He also got flip flops, a hat, crayons and coloring book, blocks, new church clothes, a kite, and a transformer. He got spoiled! He asked my mom to make him a dinosaur cake and it turned out awesome. He couldn't wait to get them off the cake, lick them, and play with them!
Thank you to our wonderful parents for coming and celebrating with us. We had a terrific time and Wyatt LOVED all of the attention!
Today I took Wy Wy in for his three year check up. Here are his stats!!!
  • Weight: 28.9 lbs--20%
  • Height: 34 1/4''--1.4%
  • BMI: 17.3--84%

Yes, he comes in a short package and needs a good growth spurt. The doctor doesn't like how his height is no longer following a growth curve, but we'll wait and see! I personally think the girl could have gotten another 1/4'' out of him if she would have had him stand up a little taller, then maybe he would have hit the 2%. We sure love our Little Wy Wy. With his charm, he will have no problem finding a cute short girl to marry someday!

I also had dentist appointments for the boys today. Carson was really good and Wyatt did pretty good, and no cavities! Yeah!

Saturday night Carson started throwing up and now is in the diarrhea phase. Wyatt started throwing up last night. I figure they picked it up at day care or it was a party gift from the birthday party Carson went to on Saturday. I just hope it's a 24 hour thing and we are close to the end of it!

Happy Birthday Wyatt!!!

Friday, March 5th

We love you Buddy! Hope you have a great 3rd birthday!

Things I love about Wyatt at this age:
  • When he wants me to understand something he is trying to tell me, he starts out by telling me "Hello! .......".

  • He loves puzzels, building, and creating. He is really good at coloring and freaks out if he accidentally goes out of the lines.

  • He sings so well and so cute. His favorite songs to sing are Old McDonald and ABC's.

  • He has a sweet little voice and says things so cute. I love hearing him talk.

  • When he looks at me with his big brown eyes and sticks out his lower lip, he totally melts my heart.

  • Most nights he won't go to bed until he gets his "rock-a-bye".

  • He loves sweets. You can't sneak anything without him wanting some too.
  • He gets so excited about snow, playing, and when one of us comes home from work. He definitely enjoys the simple things.
  • He is a sweet boy and we sure love him a ton!

Happy Birthday Sweetie!
