I LOVE Bargains!

One thing you may or may not know about me is that I hardly ever buy anything that isn't on sale, and I love finding a good deal. This week I had a 20% off coupon at Kohl's that was about to expire, and the day I went they happened to have all their clearance 25% off. As I prowled the clearance racks, I found hoodies, sweats, and long sleeve shirts for the boys to grow into for next year--paying nothing over $3. Ryan even got jeans and a really super cool shirt HE loves (with Johnny Cash on it) for about $13. I remembered that I should browse the baby things since I will have another little body to clothe and found my best deal of the day. This Nike outfit at regular price was $38. I got it for $1.80!! The clearance tag showed it was still $11, but I took it up just to see what it rang up as.

So, lesson #1, shop for clothes for the next year when things are on clearance. Lesson #2, don't always believe the price tag because sometimes it's a better deal than you think. My receipt showed I saved almost $400 from the regular prices to my $60 I really paid for everything. Yeah for sales!!

A MUCH needed date

Wednesday, my mom offered to come over and watch the kids so Ryan and I could go to the temple. We went and did a session in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. It has been too long since we have been to do a session, and I have been wanting to go for a long time. We went out to eat after and enjoyed the time to talk and laugh together. THANKS, Mom for watching the boys and THANKS, Ry for a wonderful day.

Girls Night

Saturday night I put the boys to bed and went with some friends to see Leap Year. It was a really cute Chick Flick. I haven't been out that late in a long time, but it was really fun to go out with the girls. We got back around 12:00 and I snuck in to check on the kids. It is one of my favorite things to do. I love watching them sleep and seeing the weird positions they sleep in. Ryan was totally out of it. Good thing I wasn't a robber or something. I could have totally taken advantage. ;)

A Lot of Changing Going On

There has been a lot of changing going on at our house.
This is Wyatt at 8:00. 9:00

10:00

And 11:00.
You can see his piles of jammies behind him. He loves wearing and changing his pajamas all day long.

Carson has also been changing. He has learned to tie his shoes and wipe his own bum (he is going to love reading that someday!). He is also learning to read. I think he is getting ready to start kindergarten in the fall!
Ryan answered the door with a shirt on yesterday! I was so proud of him. He is trying to do some changing too.

I must be changing as well because some guy in my ward said yesterday, "I just noticed your belly. Have you been drinking?"
I said, "Ya, it's the only thing that gets me through 3 hours of church."
I wonder if that might get me released. :)

New Year's Eve

This is how we celebrated New Years at our house. We played games.
We ate some yummy foods.

We counted down to New Year's. It came at 8:00 at our house. The kids went to bed and Ry and I hung out.

BTW, Ryan is wearing a white shirt, not just his G's! Shocking, I know! Happy New Year!

Happy New Year 2010!

Remember this post?

http://britneysboys.blogspot.com/2009/01/happy-new-year.html

I decided to see what my resolutions for last year were since I didn't have a clue what I put. Well, with the first eight goals, I really did quite horrible. The only one I did fairly well on was learning to make bread. And I did share with some neighbors a couple times. Yeah for becoming a little more domesticated!

With my real goals, I actually did pretty good. Wyatt is potty trained, we planted two trees in our backyard that may provide some shade hopefully by the time I'm 60, and we were able to go to Disneyland in May. I can't remember how many times we made it to the temple in 2008, so I guess we made it more in 2009 if you count open houses??? I have been a lot better at being on time, exercising (except since it's been cold), and being more patient. As for FHE, everyone deserves a do-over, right?

I can't decide if I want to set resolutions for 2010. I just want to be better today than I was yesterday. I want my home to be a haven. I want my kids to be happy and know they are very important and special. I want to continue to work on having a strong married relationship by spending time together. And I want the people in my life to know how much I love them and how important they are to me.

I'm excited for a new year and all we have to look forward to.

A Little Bit of Shakin' Going On

Early this morning at 1:08, there was a 2.9 earthquake here in S.S. Ryan and I both felt it. It was so crazy to be awakened like that. The rest of the night I worried about how unprepared I feel if a real disaster were to hit. I think I will make it a goal to make a 72 hour kit for each of us for 2010. Any ideas you may have are much appreciated as well!
