The boys LOVE books...

I love that getting books from the library is exciting that they sit down as soon as we get home to read them! I hope they will always enjoy learning and reading!

Good times in FHE

For FHE this week, we talked about respect and put signs all over the house to remind us to help each other and say kind things. I wanted to share some of their signs and especially their cute hand writing.(Our first FHE of the year we tasted real straight lemon juice then I made frozen lemonades and we talked about being kind and sweet instead of being sour.) Ah, if only I could hear these words more often...Carson and Wyatt wrote their own signs. They did awesome and just needed some help with the spelling.

For me...

You know when you tell your kids the same things over and over and over and they still do it? Like running in the house. I know I have told the boys not to do it at least 500 times and they still do it. I know Heavenly Father feels the same way about me. I am sure He gets frustrated with me too. Like come on, Britney! You know better--do better!

I have had a few experiences in this ward that have strengthened my testimony and shown my that Heavenly Father knows me. First, when Wyatt was having seizures when he was about 10 months old. The bishopric stopped by one random evening because they had seen us out on a walk. They didn't know what we were going through, but at that time, we needed them to come and get to know our family and pray with us and for Wyatt.

The second experience was also special. Ryan and I got called into the bishop's office. He asked which one of us was "in trouble". I totally knew it was me. I had a really strong feeling that I was getting called into the Primary presidency. When I told him this, he teared up and told me how Heavenly Father must really want me in there if he and I both had that confirmed to us.

The last experience happened on Sunday. I have felt all week that I needed to write it down so I will remember, but I have also been nervous because it is personal and I am afraid of being judged or criticized. Since this is the only place I document anything, here it goes. I was in ward council and sometimes I am not too excited to be there. When 7:00 am on those Sundays rolls around it is so tempting to just stay in my nice warm bed in my nice quiet house and catch some more z's. Well, I went to do my duties. Our bishop likes to council us. This time, it was like he was talking directly to me. Everything he said pertained to me. There is NO WAY he would have known any of this unless he lived in my home or was, in fact, me. I know Heavenly Father thought it was so important that I heard that council that day that he used the bishop to send me that message. And what better time? I had NO distractions. I have to be better. I need to be more patient and teach my children the right things in the right ways. I know Heavenly Father knows me and cares about me and my family. It is difficult not being able to control what the boys do or say, but I can teach them--then it us up to them to choose. I am thankful for this experience, and I hope I will be able to look back in six months or even a month and see progress and feel happier.

I guess there are a couple of things I like about January...

Number 1: My dad's birthday bowling party! We went to Heber this year since it is a central meeting place between Henefer, Roosevelt, and the two of us in Utah County. Here are the babies born in 2010. Yes, we were busy! Easton & Ryan, Connor & Ryan, and Kolton & Brett. I told Brett we are going to change his name to Ryan to make things easier, but more confusing. :) And here are the Mama's. We missed you T! It wasn't the same without you and your fam! We ate with the deliver dudes at a non dine-in Pizza Hut. It was pretty cool.

And the action shots!

He was showing me his pouty face and I didn't realize I got his eyes closed.
The Birthday Boy! He was in a good mood probably because he creamed us all!
Carson is getting stronger and I don't think he even used the ramp this time.
Our little score keeper...
And Grandma Joan holding Easton! Thanks for such a fun night!
Number 2: I found Brach's candy hearts! I love these things and last year when I was prego, I couldn't find them anywhere. They are the best! If my teeth rot out of my head, it was worth it!
Number 3: Monday nights! Not only are we on a roll so far this year having FHE, which I really enjoy, but The Bachelor is on TV! The Michelle girl from Utah is crazy, but SO entertaining to watch. I can have one guilty pleasure, right?
Number 4: Blankets! I love having lots of blankets on my bed. It reminds me of sleeping over at my grandma's house as a kid and she would layer them on. It felt like 10 pounds at least, but it made me feel secure, safe, and warm.

8 Months!!

Easton is now 8 months old today. I just love this little guy and can't imagine life without him! I caught a little clip of Easton wiggling. I can tell at times it drives him crazy being itchy.

He has finally decided to roll from his back to his belly and just keeps on rolling. He is trying really hard to reach for things, and I'm sure will be soldier crawling in no time. I love this discovery age!

I swore I would never let my kids sleep in my bed with me because I think it is a bad habit and unsafe. Since number 3 came along, I have been breaking my own rule. I have been letting him sleep with me because I am so tired, and frankly, I worry so much about him. I had Ryan put the rocking chair in his room and the last two nights he has been sleeping in his own bed. The first night he was up three times and twice last night. I know, I did it to myself! I am going to miss my little snuggle buddy, but I know we will both sleep better!

Easton is full of personality. He will wave, clap his hands, and give kisses. He laughs a lot, mostly at his brothers. He loves being where all the action is and wants to be held whenever I need to be making food for the boys. He loves bath time or being in the shower. He will spit out food he doesn't like and chow on food he does like. I frequently have baby food on me somewhere. He is a biter, which is not fun nursing right now! TMI! But I still LOVE you little guy!

Easton Updates

Easton got his first haircut. He screamed! You'd think he was getting his ears cut off. But he looks so much better!
He is eating solids a bit better. He sure likes the sweet stuff. He is very wiggly. He will lay on the floor and his back and turn in circles by wiggling. He even has started doing this when sitting on your lap. I don't know if it is because he itches or what, but it is pretty funny.

He has the prettiest auburn color hair. I love it. Although, the red comes out in his personality. He knows what he wants and he wants it now. I ran an errand yesterday and when I walked through the door he started crying like he was ticked I left him home and he wanted me to know that. He is a Mommy's boy and I love it. And I think he will outgrow Wyatt soon. :)

Warning: Ugly Pictures Ahead

I have had some super luck lately. Here are some of my battle wounds.Left Foot: This is after Easton pushed a 2 liter soda off the counter and landing on my foot. Sorry I have really really ugly feet. Thank goodness for shoes!Right Foot: This is after kicking what I thought was slush under the van when I got stuck the other day. It wasn't slush but a big hunk of ICE!
Eyes: And my iritis finally cleared up, but my vision did not. At least one person likes my glasses. :) I don't have to wear them all of the time, only when I want to see distances.

Happy New Year

Highlights of 2010:

Welcoming Easton to our family
Carson starting Kindergarten
Wyatt starting preschool
Ryan getting a job as a tranny (transportation officer) :)
Britney getting to stay home more with kiddos

Looking ahead to 2011:
Ugh! I don't know. I hate January. The end.

New year...new tooth!

It will be easy to remember when Easton got his first tooth! It explains all the drooling and biting! And there are a few more soon to follow!

Snow!
